TOK Exhibition at VKE
Students of Diploma Programme 2nd Year (DP II) at Victorious Kidss Educares (VKE) organized a Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Exhibition on 7th October 2022. They showcased their TOK knowledge and understanding through this exhibition and also demonstrated how TOK is relevant in the real world around them.
The TOK exhibition, which is an internal assessment component, explores how TOK manifests in the world around us. Internal assessment is an integral part of all DP courses. It enables students to demonstrate the application of their skills and knowledge, and to pursue their personal interests.
IBDP students are required to create a TOK exhibition which is based on one of the 35 IA prompts given by IB. These prompts are broader and critical knowledge questions about knowledge. Students select one IA prompt on which to base their exhibition. They select three objects and write a commentary to explain how these three objects connect with the selected IA prompt. Ideally, they should showcase different aspect of the question through the three objects.
Students are required to curate an exhibition comprising three objects and a written commentary on each object. Each student must create an individual exhibition. This is then exhibited to the entire school community.
The TOK exhibition was a great success and it showed the dedication of students towards their IBDP journey. Students and teachers from various sections of the school visited the exhibition and interacted with DP II students. Audience was thrilled to see the level of thinking provoked by the TOK questions. This exhibition gave teachers and students a glimpse into the TOK world.
