PYP 5 Formative Assessment
Victorious Kidss Educares is, ‘A School With A Difference’, is known for the ‘teaching and learning’ processes to be different and always innovative. Children are always guided to view their world with another perspective or view with multiples of perspective. In order to do things differently, this time the PYP 5 implemented an assessment with more fun and creativity in the formative assessment.
The PYP 5 students, who were assessed on their ongoing Unit – Body Systems, had to pick up chits consisting of various body systems and then devise to paint those systems on their individual T-shirts. All students very enthusiastically drew, labelled and painted the body systems. Later on, the students displayed their T-shirts and gave informative presentations, individually, on the body system in front of the class. Their confidence and love for learning was clearly visible through this formative assessment. And certainly, these were not the type of examinations we had all experienced and had gone through in our life.
