Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21st September. The General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples. The Day’s theme for 2016 is “The Sustainable Development Goals: Building Blocks for Peace.” This day is meant to be a day of global cease-fire, when all countries and all people stop all hostilities for the entire day.

Victorious Kids Educares celebrated ‘International Peace day’ on 21st September 2016 in the school campus. To mark this day, all students of MYP and DP enthusiastically participated in various activities to promote peace in the school environment. The students of DP1 worked in groups and made ‘Conflict resolution Model’ on chart papers and gave presentation to express their feelings about peace. MYP students celebrated ‘Peace Meal’ by having their afternoon meal together. They reflected their understanding on peace by making a Graffiti wall. The students had open discussion on how to respect and accept others opinions and show inter cultural understanding and resolve their differences. The students organized themselves in a way to display peace symbol in the school, which was highly appreciated by everyone. It was an enriching experience for the students as they realized the importance of unity and peace and we are hopeful that the students will promote peace in all walks of their life.
